Run Back To Him Song Notes: I started writing this one late one night on the way home from a catering gig. Of the many "day jobs" I've had in my life, the catering one was one of the best. You worked a few hours, and at the end of the night got all of the leftover food and beverages. Not bad. I finished writing this one a couple of years later as a student at the Old Town Folk School in Chicago in Ralph Covert's songwriting workshop. That was the place that I first "outed" myself as a songwriter. Until then they were just ramblings on pieces of scrap paper that I kept laying around, and obscure melodies that I'd occasionally hum to myself. Then, when I started playing out at the open mics in and around the city, this was the song that I always played to open my set. It was always the most familiar to me, the easiest to play, and if I was really nervous and played it waaay too fast, it still sounded good. That's why we still play it first today! So, if you want to hear us do it live... get there early. Lyrics: Run Back To Him Have you ever had a falling out Have you ever fallen in so deep Have you cried all night just thinking 'bout Did a lover ever come around, Tell me, is it over now? And if a lover said he's sorry Would you shine your light down on a man Oh, and if you ever loved me would you
